To meet the demands of a defense contract Archimedes needed to find a SCIF facility in the Tampa area. A Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF; pronounced “skiff”) is an enclosed area within a building that is used to process Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) level classified information according to control systems established by the Director of Central Intelligence (DCI). Access to SCIFs is limited, and all of the activity and conversation inside is restricted from public disclosure. There are SCIFs in the United States Capitol in which members of Congress are routinely briefed on intelligence, counterintelligence and military operations. Many U.S. military installations in the United States and around the world are equipped with SCIFs.
To meet the demands of a defense contract Archimedes needed a SCIF office in Tampa Bay. Tampa Commercial Real Estate was hired for the project. Such specialized buildings are scarce. Steven Silverman, the broker at Tampa Commercial Real Estate after an exhaustive search managed to locate a TSCIFF (Top Secret SCIFF) in Pasco County that met the clients criteria. The building is shielded from electronic eavesdropping. The structure has steel reinforcement throughout the walls and ceiling to prevent unauthorized entry. The windows and reception are made or bullet proof glass. The building was being used by the FBI.
